About KL App Labs
We make our own stuff.
Apps and games with their own ideas,
characters and identity.
Independent app and game studio.
Based in Scotland.
WakeUp Chaos was the first release.
Checkmate Chaos is the flagship we're building now.
More will follow.
KL stands for King Lewy.
What started as the name behind the studio became part of the games too.
King Lewy now appears inside the Chaos series — including as the King in Checkmate Chaos.
That's enough.
The name ended up in the game.
King Lewy started with KL App Labs.
Now he's got a crown, a chess board and considerably more authority than necessary.

WakeUp Chaos started with a simple idea:
Alarm apps work.
They're just boring.
So we gave the alarm a personality.
Same approach. Much bigger game.
Chess just lost its mind.
The rules are pretty simple.
It has to work.
Personality doesn't excuse a bad product.
It needs its own identity.
Unique is the point.
Ship it.
Ideas don't count for much sitting in a folder.
The Chaos series
Different apps.
Different games.
Some familiar faces.
