Account Deletion

Checkmate Chaos users with a registered account can permanently delete their account and associated personal data. Account deletion is separate from cancelling any active Google Play subscription.

How to delete your Checkmate Chaos account in the app

1. Open Checkmate Chaos on your device.
2. Sign in to the account you want to delete.
3. Open Settings.
4. Go to the account or account-management section.
5. Tap “Delete Account”.
6. Read the deletion warning explaining what will be removed.
7. Confirm that you want to permanently delete the account.

Once the deletion request is successfully completed, the account and associated personal data will be deleted or anonymised as applicable.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot normally be undone. If you want to use Checkmate Chaos again after deletion, you may need to create a new account.

Request deletion from the website

If you cannot access the App or cannot use the in-app deletion feature, you may request deletion through the KL App Labs website support service or by contacting us at help@kinglapp.com.

For security and privacy reasons, we may need to verify that you are the owner of the Checkmate Chaos account before processing a website or email deletion request.

What information is deleted

When a registered Checkmate Chaos account is deleted, personal information and account-linked data associated with that account will be deleted or anonymised as required by applicable law. Depending on the features used, this may include:

• Email address and Checkmate Chaos account/profile information.
• Player name/username associated with the deleted account, subject to any limited retention required for security or integrity purposes.
• Account identifiers and authentication associations under our control.
• Account-linked preferences and settings.
• Game history and account-linked chess activity where deletion is required and technically applicable.
• Ratings, rankings, leaderboard information and Chaos Points associated with the account, subject to anonymisation or integrity requirements.
• Achievements, streaks, puzzle progress, Academy progress and other account-linked progression.
• Other personal information associated with the Checkmate Chaos account that we are not legally or legitimately required to retain.

Guest data

Guest users do not have the same registered account as signed-in users. Guest progress and preferences may be stored locally on the device. Local Guest data can generally be removed by clearing Checkmate Chaos application data or uninstalling the App.

Because Guest data may not be linked to a registered KL App Labs account, we may be unable to remotely identify, recover or delete data that exists only on your device.

Information that may be retained

Some limited information may be retained after account deletion where reasonably necessary or required for:

• Legal, regulatory, tax or accounting obligations.
• Fraud prevention, security and abuse prevention.
• Fair-play and anti-cheat enforcement.
• Resolving disputes or establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.
• Maintaining the integrity of historical game or competition records in anonymised or de-identified form where appropriate.
• Third-party payment, transaction or subscription records that are controlled or required to be retained by Google Play, RevenueCat or another applicable provider.

Where information must be retained, we will limit retention to what is reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose and handle it in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Subscriptions are not automatically cancelled

Deleting your Checkmate Chaos account or uninstalling the App does not necessarily cancel an active subscription purchased through Google Play.

If you have an active Checkmate Chaos subscription and do not want it to renew, cancel it separately through your Google Play subscription settings. Account deletion and Google Play subscription cancellation are separate actions.

Google sign-in

If you created or accessed Checkmate Chaos using Google sign-in, deleting your Checkmate Chaos account removes the Checkmate Chaos account and associated data under our control as described above. It does not delete your Google account.
